Kennett Mohrman
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP: I was born in Denmark then spent some years in the northeast (PA & NJ) and finally ended up in Florida which is where I was for middle and high school and eventually photo school.
WHEN DID YOU FIRST BECOME INTERESTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY: In 8th grade I got obsessed with skateboarding and spent a ton of time flipping through magazines and watching skate videos. I think that planted the seed and then in 10th grade I took my first photo class (I took all the photo/ceramics classes I could since they seemed “easy”).
WHAT INSPIRES YOU: Traveling with my wife Lizzy. I moved a lot as a kid and it never felt like a negative experience but more of an exciting opportunity to see new people and places.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE IMAGE THAT YOU'VE TAKEN: My wife had never been to Florida when we got together so when we went for the first time my childhood buddy took us out on his river boat to see some true Florida. As a native Floridian, he thought she should see a gator up close so he proceeded to jump in and catch one with his bare hands. The photo of him holding the gator is definitely up there on the list.
WHAT ARE ONE OR TWO OF YOUR FAVORITE MOMENTS FROM PAST SHOOTS: I shot a story for Road & Track magazine at a dirt track in Ohio and got to sit shotgun in a two seater late-model stock car to shoot photos (which felt nearly impossible drifting around the short track at almost 100mph).

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE HISTORICAL FIGURE: Weegee is pretty fascinating.

WHAT IS YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL: Polar bear

WHAT IS THE ONE ITEM OF CLOTHING THAT YOU WEAR MOST OFTEN: Hoody. 100%.
WHAT WOULD THE TITLE OF YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY BE: “Have I shown you photos of my dog?”
WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING YOU'VE EVER DONE: I made it through the pandemic and am still a photographer.
WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU LAUGHED SO HARD IT HURT: Yesterday! My nephews are hilarious.
WHAT IS YOUR SECRET TALENT: I can crush a word game.
WHAT IS YOUR GO TO DANCE MOVE: Standing awkwardly as far away from any dancing.
WHAT IS THE STRANGEST THING IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR: Mushroom growing kit is kind of strange right?
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO UNWIND AFTER A BUSY DAY: Video games on the couch with Lizzy and Margot.
