MEET THE ARTISTS:

Nicholas Maggio

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP: Born in New Orleans, then Ventura, but I claim Bakersfield as the place that grew me. And yes, I said  Bakersfield.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST BECOME INTERESTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY: I started taking classes in Jr. High, so when I was 12 or so. I used to give other kids my lunch money to roll my film onto the reel in a changing bag. I hated doing that. Then I got assigned to shoot our flag football team for the yearbook. I got high-speed film and shot a bunch of grainy pictures of the clouds. Poor football team... "unpictured."

WHAT INSPIRES YOU: I can find inspiration anywhere. That sounds soooooo pretentious it's painful, but it's true. Give me a pile of dirt and I'll find something to get stoked about.

WHAT ARE ONE OR TWO OF YOUR FAVORITE MOMENTS FROM PAST SHOOTS: The impromptu dance party involving the agency creatives AND client which broke out on set during a luxury car shoot would have to take the cake. Rick Ross, he just has a way of bringing it out.

IF YOU WEREN'T A PHOTOGRAPHER WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING INSTEAD: I'm not sure there's a name for it, but it would involve Legos, fast cars, and loud music.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE HISTORICAL FIGURE: I should say some super influential and hip photographer, but I'll go with Jim Henson.

WHAT IS YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL: Ryan Gosling

IF YOU COULD ONLY EAT ONE FOOD FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE? French fries and hummus. Together.

WHAT IS THE ONE ITEM OF CLOTHING THAT YOU WEAR MOST OFTEN: Black boots. I have what some would call a "uniform," and the black boots are the heart and sole of said uniform (see what I did there?).

WHAT WOULD THE TITLE OF YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY BE: Doesn't matter, the clearance sticker would cover it anyway.

WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU LAUGHED SO HARD IT HURT: I'm not sure, but it was probably on set and because of something Andy J Scott said.

WHAT IS YOUR SECRET TALENT: I have so few I tend to make any known. "Ta-daaaa... no really guys, this is it."

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO DANCE MOVE: Not gonna lie, the repertoire is strong. You'll see most of them within the first few hours of working with me.

WHAT IS THE STRANGEST THING IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR: My jeans. You can't wash them cause it ruins the fade... so you throw them in the freezer and it kills any smell. Who wants to hang out?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO UNWIND AFTER A BUSY DAY: Ping-Pong
