MEET THE ARTIST:

Sophie Ono

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP: I grew up in Rome, Italy, and spent my whole childhood there.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST BECOME INTERESTED IN BEAUTY: I first got into beauty when I moved to Tokyo at the age of 13. The city was buzzing with fashion and beauty magazines and I would spend hours devouring makeup tutorials. It's amazing how something as simple as makeup can have such a powerful impact and be so transformative.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LOOK THAT YOU’VE CREATED: My favorite looks are the ones where I have no time restrictions and I have freedom to experiment and push the boundaries of my creativity. For instance, I once crafted a look using thorns, and another time using sprouts. These out-of-the-box makeup looks give me joy.

WHERE DO YOU LOOK FOR INSPIRATION: Everywhere!

IF YOU WEREN'T AN ARTIST WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING INSTEAD: As a kid, I had this fascination with makeovers. Whenever I visited my friends' houses, I couldn't help myself—I would dive right into cleaning up their rooms and giving them a whole new look. It was like a fun game for me. Now, if I weren't a makeup artist, I would be flipping houses. I'd love to buy old homes and transform them into something beautiful. The idea of taking a neglected property and giving it a fresh start sounds fun.

WHAT SONG GETS STUCK IN YOUR HEAD MOST OFTEN: Some classical music melodies. Ever since I started taking ballet classes, I've discovered a whole new passion for classical music.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?: Dance

WHAT WOULD THE TITLE OF YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY BE: Work In Progress

WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING YOU'VE EVER DONE: One of the hardest experiences was leaving home at the age of 15 to come and study here in the US. It was completely my own choice, but let me tell you, it made me grow up real fast.

WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU LAUGHED SO HARD IT HURT: When I was in the middle of filming a halloween makeup look for social media and the fedex guy rang my doorbell.

WHAT IS YOUR SECRET TALENT: In my mind I'm a prima ballerina

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO DANCE MOVE: tombé-pas de bourrée- pirouette

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO UNWIND AFTER A BUSY DAY: Ballet class

WHAT IS THE CRAZIEST LOOK YOU HAVE CREATED? It has to be the sprouts look. I glued lots of tiny sprouts all over my face.
