MEET THE ARTISTS:

James Daw

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP: Fleckney, a small village outside of Leicester. U.K.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST BECOME INTERESTED IN ILLUSTRATION: I’ve always been an arty kid but it wasn’t really until art college that the path turned to Illustration.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PIECE THAT YOU’VE CREATED: I would say most of the time it would be the latest piece, it’s always good to push and if it contains a lot of room for experimentation then the more the better. The work I do for Mailchimp is always fun and I get to use my otherworldly fantasy head.

IF YOU WEREN'T AN ARTIST WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING INSTEAD: As a kid, I always wanted to be a vet but then I developed a rodent phobia and the thought of someone bringing in their pet rat brings me out in a cold sweat and would have me jumping out of windows.

WHAT SONG GETS STUCK IN YOUR HEAD MOST OFTEN: It changes on the regular, like a never-ending HITS album.

WHAT IS YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL: A very good friend of mine practices Shamanism and once journeyed to find my own. She came back with a Sea Turtle which is surprisingly fitting.

IF YOU COULD ONLY EAT ONE FOOD FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE? It’s a tough one, for many a year I would have said cheese but now seems to have turned to avocado, which is basically the cheese of the fruit world.

WHAT IS THE ONE ITEM OF CLOTHING THAT YOU WEAR MOST OFTEN: Black Jeans.

WHAT WOULD THE TITLE OF YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY BE: James Daw….The Highs…The Lows

WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING YOU'VE EVER DONE: Making a living from art.

WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU LAUGHED SO HARD IT HURT: Probably a few hours ago. I laugh with friends and family A LOT! Ya gotta be funny.

WHAT IS YOUR SECRET TALENT: I know the entire routine to Michael Jackson’s Thriller video.

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO DANCE MOVE: The reach out hand, pull back into a fist power move mixed with a side to side shoulder rock.

WHAT IS THE STRANGEST THING IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR: My full face gel cooling mask. Think the blue genie for Aladdin crossed with Hannibal Lecter.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO UNWIND AFTER A BUSY DAY: Films. I love losing myself in a good movie.
